All About Me
I am a fine arts watercolor and acrylic self taught artist who resides in Houston, Texas. My path as an artist began in early childhood influenced by my surroundings of the outdoors and my Aunt taking me to museum outings.
From that point, I was always experimenting with different art form media; from charcoal drawing and acrylic painting, to a side job in photography in the 90s while also working as a gallery assistant in Miami.
My love of watercolor art surfaced in 2005 when it became a channel for expressing my appreciation for nature and how light reflects on the world around us. My intended dialogue between the viewer and the art is to inspire and bring visual joy with uplifting watercolors, acrylics with a touch of impressionism, and occasionally abstracts. My work reflects the importance of being in the moment - feeling, experiencing, and awareness of the “here and now”. At times, I move away from the richly saturated colors into a toned down palette in order to achieve a more subtle expression. I tend not to be too attached to a strictly defined style, my work is always expressive with what life is setting before me at the time.
I am a multisport athlete and fitness trainer. Along with my passion for art I have a passion for cycling, traveling, family time and hiking adventures. As in life I enjoys the freedom to experiment and create outside of any strict boundaries of style or media.
